Our Story

In 1997, Todd Peterson and Noah Stokes began making movies together in their tiny downtown San Luis Obispo apartment. On the door of the studio hung a picture of a red bird painted by a friend's 10-year-old sister. Todd and Noah both agreed that the bird was probably a canary, and Red CANARY studio was born. Nearly two decades later, the painting still hangs in our offices as a reminder of what matters most: the people we work with every day.
